Full truckload (FTL)

Full trucks up to 24 tonnes and 33 pallets - 13.6 m curtain-side trailers: standard, mega and coil-well. Domestic and international transport with no transhipment.

A forwarder, not a carrier - and that is your advantage

We have no fleet of our own. We have something better.

A carrier sells you whatever truck happens to be idle. We - as a freight forwarder - match the vehicle to the cargo from a network of hundreds of vetted carriers. You get one point of contact, one invoice and one company responsible for the whole job: GOCAR.

/01

Always the right truck

Van, solo truck, mega, reefer or low-loader - we provide what the cargo requires, not what we happen to have “on the lot”.

/02

Accountability and OCP insurance of EUR 600,000

Full care of the cargo from loading to unloading, backed by carrier/forwarder liability (OCP) insurance.

/03

Where others see a problem

Multi-drop runs, retail chains, non-standard bodies and demanding logistics projects - that is our specialism.

Transport routes

Poland. Europe.
And what lies beyond the EU.

Most forwarders stop at the EU border. That is where we are just getting started - customs clearance to Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom is part of our daily routine.

Frequently asked questions about transport and freight forwarding

The questions you
want to ask anyway.

Concrete answers with no marketing fluff - exactly the same ones you would hear from us over the phone.

Q01What is the difference between freight forwarding and transport?+

Transport is the physical carriage of goods from point A to point B using a carrier's own fleet. Freight forwarding is the organisational service: the forwarder plans the whole delivery, selects the right carrier and vehicle body, manages documents and deadlines and is responsible for how the job runs. GOCAR is a freight forwarding company - we organise domestic and international transport across the whole EU and to Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom, taking the entire logistics burden off the customer.

Q02Who is a freight forwarder and what exactly do they do?+

A freight forwarder is a transport organiser who, on the customer's behalf, selects the carrier, plans the route, prepares and verifies documents (including the CMR), oversees loading and unloading and steps in when something goes wrong. They act as a single point of contact between the consignor, the consignee and the carrier. At GOCAR, availability 7 days a week means that someone is watching over your cargo at the weekend too.

Q03Why does a freight forwarder have no fleet of its own, and is that a drawback?+

Having no fleet of its own is an advantage, not a drawback. Instead of a handful of its own trucks, the forwarder has access to a network of hundreds of vetted carriers and every body type, so it matches the optimal vehicle to each job rather than carrying the cargo with whatever happens to be sitting in the yard. GOCAR draws on that flexibility - whatever the route or type of goods, we find the right truck, and you pay for the transport you genuinely need.

Q04How much does transport to Germany cost?+

There is no single rate - the price depends on the route, weight, number of pallets, body type, deadline and whether it is a full truckload or groupage. Germany is our main market, so we have a dense carrier network there and competitive rates in both directions. Send us an enquiry with your cargo details and you will usually receive a quote within 30–60 minutes.

Q05What is OCP and is my cargo insured?+

OCP is carrier liability insurance - it provides cover in the event of damage, loss, theft or delayed delivery of the cargo caused by the carrier. GOCAR holds carrier and forwarder liability (OCP) insurance with a sum insured of EUR 600,000, so your goods are covered by genuine financial protection. For especially high-value cargo it is also worth considering additional cargo insurance.

Q06What is the difference between full truckload (FTL) and groupage (LTL)?+

FTL (Full Truck Load) is full-truckload transport - the whole truck travels for a single customer, directly and fastest, and pays off for larger loads. LTL (Less Than Truckload), or groupage, is a part-load where the truck's space is shared between several consignors and you pay only for your share. GOCAR handles both options - we will advise which works out cheaper and faster for your consignment.

Q07Does GOCAR organise the transport of dangerous goods (ADR)?+

Yes, we organise ADR transport - the carriage of dangerous goods in line with the international ADR agreement - for example chemicals, paints, solvents, gases or lithium batteries. Such shipments require suitably trained drivers holding an ADR certificate, correct marking and vehicle equipment, which is why we match specialist carriers to them. Give us the ADR class and UN number of the goods and we will prepare a compliant offer.

Q08How many pallets fit on an articulated truck?+

A standard curtain-side trailer (13.6 m) holds 33 EUR pallets (120×80 cm) arranged in a single layer. The number may be lower if the cargo is heavy - the payload limit is around 24 tonnes, so very dense goods will use up the weight before they fill the floor. GOCAR organises transport up to 24 tonnes and will help choose a vehicle that makes the most of both the space and the tonnage.

Q09What is a CMR document and who issues it?+

The CMR is the international consignment note for road carriage - the basic document confirming that a contract of carriage has been concluded and that the carrier has taken over the goods in a defined condition and quantity. It serves an evidential and instructional function and is issued in three copies (for the consignor, the consignee and the carrier). For international transport organised by GOCAR the CMR is standard, and we make sure it is filled in correctly.

Q10How do I order transport from GOCAR and how quickly will I get a quote?+

Simply send an enquiry with your cargo details - the loading and unloading locations, weight, number and type of pallets, type of goods and the date. You can use the quote form on the website, email offer@gocar.com.pl or call +48 693 544 255. We usually prepare a quote within 30–60 minutes, and we are available 7 days a week.

Q11What affects the price of international transport?+

The most important factors are the route and its length, the weight and volume of the cargo, the type of body required (curtain-side, reefer, ADR), the deadline and urgency, as well as the seasonal availability of trucks on a given route and road costs (such as the German Maut toll). It also matters whether it is FTL or groupage and whether customs clearance is needed. GOCAR analyses these elements and selects the carrier offering the best balance of price and timing.

Q12What is express CITO transport and when is it used?+

Express transport, marked as CITO, is an urgent shipment carried on a dedicated truck with no consolidation, by the shortest route and often with two drivers to keep delivery time to a minimum. It is used when every hour counts - during production stoppages, missing components or a broken supply chain. GOCAR organises express transport across the whole EU, getting a truck moving practically straight away.

Q13What does transport to Switzerland and customs clearance look like?+

Switzerland is not in the EU, so every shipment requires customs clearance - you need, among other things, a commercial invoice, a CMR consignment note, a packing list, export clearance and the consignor's EORI number. The goods usually travel under the T1/T2 transit procedure, and customs duty and taxes apply at the border. GOCAR specialises in the Swiss route together with full customs clearance, so we will walk you through the formalities step by step.

Q14Does GOCAR run transport to Norway and how does clearance work there?+

Yes, Norway is one of our non-EU specialisms. Because the country is outside the customs union, the cargo travels under the T1 transit procedure (non-Union goods) or T2, and clearance requires an invoice, a CMR, a packing list and the goods' customs tariff code. GOCAR organises transport to Norway together with full customs clearance, so you do not have to handle the border paperwork yourself.

Q15What does transport to the United Kingdom look like after Brexit?+

After Brexit the United Kingdom is outside the EU, so transport runs under customs transit (the T1/T2 regime or TIR), and import and export clearance is required at the border. You need, among other things, a commercial invoice, a CMR, a packing list and the correct customs tariff code. GOCAR serves the UK route together with the customs formalities, so you avoid border delays caused by incorrect documents.

Q16Which countries does GOCAR organise transport to?+

We run domestic transport across the whole of Poland and international transport across the entire European Union - most often to Germany, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, the Benelux countries, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia, Romania and Ireland. Beyond the EU we specialise in Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom with full customs clearance, and we also serve eastern routes and occasionally Turkey. If your route is not on the list, ask - GOCAR's carrier network reaches far and wide.

Q17What is refrigerated transport and how does it differ from an insulated body?+

Refrigerated transport runs in a trailer with a refrigeration unit that actively maintains a set temperature - for example +2…+6°C for dairy or -18°C for frozen goods. An insulated (isothermal) body is temperature-insulated without a unit, working like a thermos, used on shorter routes to protect against temperature fluctuations. GOCAR organises reefer and insulated transport in line with cold-chain principles, including for the food industry.

Q18Does GOCAR organise oversized transport?+

Yes, we organise abnormal-load shipments - cargo exceeding standard dimensions or weight (over 2.5 m wide, over 4 m high or over 42 t). Such transport requires permits of the appropriate category, route agreement with the road authority and often an escort. GOCAR selects a specialist carrier with the right trailer and takes care of arranging the formalities.

Q19What is sea transport FCL and LCL?+

FCL (Full Container Load) is the hire of a whole container for a single consignee - faster and safer, and cost-effective for larger volumes. LCL (Less than Container Load) is the consolidation of several consignors' goods in one container, cheaper for smaller loads though with a longer transit time. GOCAR organises FCL and LCL sea forwarding and multimodal transport, combining sea freight with road haulage and customs clearance.

Q20What is multimodal transport?+

Multimodal transport is the carriage of a single load by several modes of transport - for example sea, road or rail - within one integrated service with a single order and a single organiser's liability. It allows you to combine the low cost of sea freight with the flexibility of road delivery to the consignee's door. As a freight forwarder, GOCAR plans such chains and coordinates the transhipments and customs clearance at the interface between modes.

Q21What is the maximum cargo weight GOCAR can organise?+

We organise road transport for loads up to 24 tonnes, which corresponds to the payload of a standard trailer. For heavier or unusual consignments we move into the area of abnormal-load transport, which we arrange on a case-by-case basis. Give us the weight and dimensions of the cargo and we will select the right vehicle and body.

Q22What is the difference between a EUR pallet and an industrial pallet?+

A EUR pallet (Euro pallet) measures 120×80 cm and is the transport standard - 33 of them fit on a trailer. An industrial pallet is larger, usually 120×100 cm, so it takes up more room and fewer fit on the truck. When requesting a quote it is worth stating the pallet type and number, as this affects loading and price - GOCAR will help work out the optimal arrangement.

Q23How long does transport to Germany, Italy or Spain take?+

The time depends on the route, distance, loading and unloading locations and whether it is direct transport (FTL) or groupage with consolidation stops. Nearby routes such as Germany or the Czech Republic usually take 1–2 days, while more distant ones such as Italy, Spain or Scandinavia take several days. For urgent deliveries we offer express CITO transport - give us the deadline and we will choose the option that fits it.

Q24Does GOCAR handle transport to the east?+

Yes, we have experience on eastern routes and organise carriage there. Non-EU transport involves customs clearance and transit, which is why we select carriers familiar with the specifics of those borders and the documentation required. Get in touch with the destination country and type of goods, and we will check the options and prepare a quote.

Q25Can a load be carried to Turkey?+

Yes, we occasionally organise transport on the Turkish route. Turkey is outside the EU, so customs clearance and transit come into play, and the time and price depend on the route and type of goods. Send us an enquiry with your cargo details - we will check carrier availability and prepare an offer tailored to this route.

Q26What does the T1 procedure mean and when is it needed?+

T1 is a customs transit declaration used for non-Union goods carried across EU territory without paying duty and taxes at internal borders - clearance takes place only in the destination country. T2 applies to Union goods. The T1 procedure is used, among other things, for transport to Norway, Switzerland or the United Kingdom. GOCAR organises shipments under these procedures together with customs clearance.

Q27Does GOCAR run domestic transport within Poland?+

Yes, alongside international transport we organise domestic carriage across the whole of Poland - both full-truckload and groupage. Thanks to a network of hundreds of carriers with various body types, we match the vehicle to the route and type of goods, including on urgent routes. Submit your cargo via the form or by phone and you will receive a quote usually within 30–60 minutes.

Q28Which industries does GOCAR serve?+

We organise transport for companies in the food, metal, furniture, construction and manufacturing industries, as well as for retail chains. Each has different requirements - food, for example, needs a reefer and a cold chain, while the metal and construction industries involve heavy or unusual loads. GOCAR matches the body and carrier to the specifics of your industry and cargo.

Q29Is GOCAR a trusted company and how many shipments has it already completed?+

GOCAR Łukasz Wleklak has been operating since 2022 and has completed over 10,000 domestic and international shipments. We work with a network of hundreds of vetted carriers and hold OCP insurance with a sum insured of EUR 600,000. We are available 7 days a week, and we usually prepare a quote within 30–60 minutes.

Q30What information should I prepare to get an accurate transport quote?+

Give us the location and postcode of loading and unloading, the total weight, the number and type of pallets or the cargo dimensions, the type of goods (especially if it is ADR or requires a reefer) and your preferred date. It is also useful to know whether you need a whole truck or groupage will do, and whether customs clearance is involved. The fuller the details, the more accurate the offer - GOCAR will send the quote back usually within 30–60 minutes.
